The Advanced Diffraction and Scattering beamlines (ADS-1 and ADS-2) are two independently operating, experimentally flexible beamlines that will use high-energy X-ray diffraction and imaging to characterise the structures of new materials and minerals.
The Biological Small Angle X-ray Scattering beamline will be optimised for measuring small angle scattering of surfactants, nanoparticles, polymers, lipids, proteins and other biological macromolecules in solution. BioSAXS combines combine a state-of-the-art high-flux small angle scattering beamline with specialised in-line protein purification and preparation techniques for high-throughput protein analysis.

Instrument Scientist (The triple-axis spectrometers Sika and Taipan)
Role at ANSTO
ANSTO is a highly regulated organisation. Our governance system and processes provide critical guidance to effectively manage ANSTO’s activities.
This section outlines the processes and systems that are in place to provide assurance to Government, our stakeholders and the
community that we are working within our regulated and mandated requirements.

The High Performance Macromolecular Crystallography beamline will enable the study of very small (sub-5 micrometre) or weakly diffracting crystals, providing a state-of-the-art high-throughput facility for researchers. MX3 will be able to study the structures of large proteins and protein complexes for virology, drug design and industrial applications via goniometer mounted crystals, in-tray screening, or via serial crystallography methods.
Radionuclide metrology is the technical function of measuring radioactivity of radionuclides.

The Minerals consultancy group at ANSTO has expertise in chemical engineering, metallurgy, mineralogy, chemistry, geology, and radiation safety. We can support our client's project by providing process development services, technical review, and research.
Beamline Scientist – MX (Industry Specialist)
Role at ANSTO
Over the last decades, neutron, photon, and ion beams have been established as an innovative and attractive investigative approach to characterise cultural-heritage materials.
CEO of Supply Nation Kate Russell, Acting/Deputy CEO of Kinaway Chamber of Commerce and ANSTO CEO Shaun Jenkinson will be exploring the importance of achieving supplier diversity in an online webinar. Many organisations want to do more in this sphere of activity to support Reconciliation but face challenges.
